About this policy
Friday Effects is a visual studio for 3D, animation and effects. This draft describes this website and its embedded demonstrations. The analytics section also covers the linked web editor. Account storage, optional AI services, Sketchfab and Discord are separate features; their other data practices need separate disclosure. “We” means the operator of Friday Effects, whose legal and contact details are pending.
Visitor count
This website does not load Google Analytics or use analytics cookies, visitor IDs or browser fingerprinting. Our server keeps daily totals of successful requests for the homepage, product and legal pages. These totals contain only the date (UTC), a fixed page name and a count. Query strings, IP addresses, browser details, referring pages and account information are not stored in this report. Counts include reloads and automated traffic; they do not identify unique visitors or individual browsing histories. Totals are retained for up to 365 days and are publicly available on the Visitor count page. The totals contain no individual visitor records.
The hosting service separately receives information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as your IP address, requested pages, browser information and technical logs. Aggregate reporting does not change those operational logs. The visual simulations run locally in your browser.
Optional editor analytics
The linked editor uses Google Analytics 4 only after you choose Allow analytics. It measures editor visits and selected actions such as creating a project, opening the editor, saving, playback, library use, publishing and exporting. Google receives these events and ordinary device/browser and network information. We send normalized page routes and the referring site's origin; we do not send query strings, project IDs, project names or contents, account names, email addresses, prompts, search terms or uploaded filenames. This is not session recording. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled.
The Analytics toggle in the editor’s cog settings lets you change your choice. Rejecting or withdrawing consent stops our Google Analytics events and removes its cookies on this site. Your choice and Google Analytics cookies are configured for 180 days. Clearing browser storage resets the choice. Withdrawal does not erase events already received by Google. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Google may process information outside your country under its applicable data-processing terms.
Browser storage and third-party requests
Embedded product demonstrations can use service workers and browser caches to store engine files and assets for faster repeat visits. Clearing site data removes these local caches. Your physics-wall positions are temporary and are not saved to an account.
The homepage and product page serve their fonts locally. The editor also uses Google Fonts, which receives the font request and network information. Following external links sends you to another website governed by its own privacy policy. The Discord invite is not yet active.
Purposes and legal grounds
The intended purposes are delivering the website, controlling access to private previews, keeping it secure and responding to requests. Where applicable, the legal grounds are providing a requested service or our legitimate interests in operating and protecting it. Any optional processing that requires consent will need a separate, clear choice before it begins.
Sharing, transfers and retention
Hosting and infrastructure providers may process technical information needed to run the site. The final policy will identify the relevant providers, international-transfer safeguards and retention periods. We have not added a sale-of-personal-data or targeted-advertising integration. Technical data should be kept only as long as necessary for its purpose and applicable obligations; an exact server-log schedule has not yet been confirmed.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or obtain a copy of personal data, restrict processing, object to processing, withdraw consent and complain to a data-protection authority. These rights have conditions and exceptions. The privacy contact for exercising them will be published before launch; until then, avoid submitting personal information through this preview.
You can clear your browser’s site data, choose not to follow external links, and use the site without creating a Friday Effects account. See the European Commission’s explanation of privacy rights.
Security, children and updates
We intend to use proportionate technical and organisational protections, while recognising that no online service is completely secure. This preview is not directed at children. Before collecting account information, the final service will set out age requirements and a contact for any child-data concerns. Material changes to this policy will be dated and communicated where required.
